parabens, dyes, GMOs, soy, alcohol, gluten & peroxide
Many makeup brush cleaners you can buy contain alcohol, which can cause dryness and skin surface erosion, and puts a strain on how skin replenishes and rejuvenates. You may think that alcohol would make skin less oily but it actually does just the opposite, increasing oiliness, adding shine, and causing bumps and enlarged pores.
If your makeup brush cleaner contains soy, your skin is ingesting photoestrogens, plant-based estrogens that mimic estrogen in our bodies. An excess of estrogen is proven to cause breast cancer, suppressed thyroid function, endometriosis, uterine fibroids, infertility, and low libido is unopposed estrogen, or estrogen dominance. Soy also can block mineral absorption and can cause all kinds of digestive problems because it inhibits the body's ability to digest protein.
Parabens can cause endocrine disruption, meaning that they interfere with endocrine(or hormone) systems, possibly causing cancerous tumors, birth defects, and other developmental disorders. Parabens are not water soluble, so you can't wash them off your brush with water alone. Because parabens penetrate the skin, repeated application of a product a makeup brush cleaner containing parabens could mean almost continuous exposure to this toxic substance.
